Dianna Davis-Smith, M.B.A, PhD

Dr. Dianna Davis-Smith serves as President of The Catholic College of Mandeville (CCM) in Mandeville Jamaica. She is a graduate of t Nova Southeastern University which provided her the skillsets and qualification for a sterling career within the banking sector and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Management Major) and a PhD in Education. A career banker turned educator, Dr. Dianna Davis-Smith was appointed President at Catholic College of Mandeville in January 2017, she became the first Jamaican to serve in this leadership position. Ever since taking up her assignment as President, Davis-Smith has sought to reinvent the offerings at Catholic College of Mandeville and to ensure adherence to local and international benchmarks in tertiary education.

Under her presidency Catholic College of Mandeville gained membership in the following organizations

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children 
  • United Nations Academic Impact
  • National Certificates of Educational Achievement

And established initiates such as training in the Assessment of Dyslexia, in conjunction with Dyslexia institute based in California; Annual Early Childhood conference – Right start Bright start! held first Thursday of November. Under the watchful and participatory leadership of Dr. Davis-Smith Catholic College of Mandeville holds from University Council of Jamaica full accreditation of all its programs; and has reintroduce day-time offerings of studies in Primary and Early Childhood education.

Dr. Davis-Smith is a certified Coach and Trainer in fields of Emotional Intelligence and Restorative Practices and is currently designing the introduction of SEL skills for incorporation into the training of all CCM teachers in training.

At the Catholic College we have multiple Departments to assist you in Fulfilling your Dreams and Aspirations Through Education.

The Administrative Infrastructure includes the following offices:

  • Administrative
    • To provide support for and link the various departments in the organisation; ensure a
      smooth flow of information and the effective communication of CCM’s goals and vision
      to the wider community
  • Admissions
    • To enrol new graduate students and provide required information to potential
      students about the nature, requirements and design of programmes on offer at CCM.
  •  Registrar
    • To process registration requests, create the timetable and teaching schedules;
      enforce the rules and regulations for study at CCM and keep a track of students’
      permanent records
  •  Finance
    • To Keep accurate financial records and controls; create financial reports that assist with
      the making of strategic managerial decisions.
  • Quality Assurance Officer
    • Provides oversight on quality of teaching, learning and assessment practices.
      Coordinates the accreditation process.
  • B.Ed. Coordinator
    • To Sustains the development of informed faith commitment in students and
      staff/faculty; contributes to the construction and articulation of the Catholic
      Identity practices of CCM.
  • Student Services
    • Provide support and referrals to students to ensure a quality student/ learning
      experience and promote students’ achievement and emotional well-being.
  • Campus Ministry
    •  Sustains the development of informed faith commitment in students and
      staff/faculty; contributes to the construction and articulation of the Catholic
      Identity practices of CCM.
  • Library
    • Creates, monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of information access and
      information literacy services that are used to promote knowledge acquisition in
      students and staff/faculty
  • Clerical
    • Provide the support needed for the duties and responsibilities of the particular
      department.
  • Ancillary and maintenance
    • Maintain the physical infrastructure of CCM to promote aesthetics, environmental
      conservation and preservation and reduce the cost of repairs.
